About
A South African technology company built on craft.
Avuno Technologies is a South African technology company based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, founded by Werno Roodt, that builds websites, web apps, software products and AI tools for small businesses — locally priced in Rands, mobile-first, POPIA-aware, and supported directly by the person who built them.
The studio
The person who builds it is the one who answers the phone.
Avuno is a South African software studio based in Mossel Bay, working with businesses across the Western Cape and the rest of South Africa, mostly remotely. The person who replies to your first email is the same one who designs the site, writes the code and supports it after launch. Everything is hand-coded to fit how your business actually works, rather than assembled from a bloated page builder — so it stays fast, secure and genuinely yours to own.
Key takeaways
- Avuno is a Mossel Bay technology company, founded and led by developer Werno Roodt — not just a web designer, but a builder of digital services, software products and infrastructure.
- We build brochure websites from R4,500, advanced sites and web apps from R12,000, and care plans from R300/mo.
- Every project is hand-coded, mobile-first and POPIA-aware — no template factories, no overseas call centre.
- You own your domain, content and site outright, and you talk to the developer directly.
Who is behind Avuno?
Avuno Technologies is led by Werno Roodt, its founder and lead developer. He is a South African developer and multi-trade craftsman based in Mossel Bay on the Garden Route, and he designs, builds and supports the projects he takes on. When you work with Avuno, you are not handed off to an account manager or a queue — you talk to the person who writes the code.
That craftsman's background is the reason Avuno exists. Trades taught Werno that a job done properly the first time saves the customer money later, that the person who did the work should stand behind it, and that clear pricing builds trust faster than any sales pitch. Those same values run through every website, web app and system Avuno ships. There is no large team to absorb the cost of mistakes, so the work has to be right — and because it is hand-built rather than assembled from a template, it can be made exactly to fit how a real South African business actually operates.
The founder
Werno Roodt
Founder & Lead Developer, Avuno Technologies — the person who writes the code and stands behind it.
Werno is a self-taught full-stack developer and multi-trade craftsman in Mossel Bay. Before software, he worked with his hands across several trades, and that habit carried over: he builds hand-coded websites rather than dragging blocks around a page builder, because writing the markup himself is how he keeps a site fast, secure and genuinely his client's to own. He founded Avuno to bring world-class, locally priced technology to the small businesses that drive the Garden Route economy — and to offer the kind of real, direct support that bigger agencies have priced out of reach.
What we do
One company, three pillars.
Avuno is a technology company, not just a web designer. The work spans three connected pillars — the digital services we build for clients, the software products we build for ourselves, and the infrastructure that runs it all.
Digital Services
Websites, web apps, managed hosting, AI automation and ongoing maintenance — hand-built for South African small businesses and priced in Rands.
Software Products
Our own SaaS — ServiceHub and Avuno Business — plus future products, built from the same hand-coded foundations we use for clients.
Infrastructure & Innovation
Cloud hosting and a self-managed home lab give Avuno the platform to host securely, experiment freely and keep clients' sites fast and online.
What we believe
Built for South African realities.
Avuno is built for South African realities, not borrowed wholesale from overseas agencies. Five principles shape every quote, every build and every line of support.
Locally priced
Quotes are in Rands, fixed and clear — a brochure site from R4,500, care from R300/mo. No dollar billing, no surprise invoices, no retainers you didn't ask for.
Mobile-first
Most South Africans meet your business on a phone, so that's where every site is designed to load fast and look sharp first — desktop second.
POPIA-aware
Privacy, secure forms and a proper privacy policy are built in from the start, so your business meets the Protection of Personal Information Act.
Real support
You reach the developer who built your site directly — not a call centre, not a ticket lost in a queue on another continent.
You own it
Your domain, your content and your site are your asset. Avuno builds and can maintain them, but they are never locked to us.
How does Avuno work?
Avuno follows a simple, transparent process so you always know what is happening and what it costs. It starts with a free discovery call to understand your business and map exactly what you need. From there you get a written, fixed-scope proposal in Rands — usually within one working day — so there are no surprises before any work begins.
Once you approve it, Werno designs and builds the site or app by hand: fast, secure and mobile-first. A typical brochure website goes from approved proposal to live in one to three weeks; larger web apps are staged over several weeks so you can see progress as it lands. We launch on your own domain with SSL, then — if you'd like — keep it fast, backed up and secure on a monthly care plan. Throughout, you deal with the same person from first email to launch.
Where is Avuno based, and who do you serve?
Avuno Technologies (Pty) Ltd is based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, and serves clients across the Garden Route, all of South Africa, and remote clients worldwide. Being local matters: Werno understands the trades, guest houses, lodges and service businesses that drive this region, and builds for how they actually win customers — a Google search that turns into a booked job, or a phone enquiry that turns into a guest. Distance is no barrier, though; everything can be handled over a call, email and WhatsApp, so a business in Cape Town, Johannesburg or further afield gets exactly the same hands-on attention as one down the road.
